Work Hard, Play Hard :) 11/04/2010
by Susan Anyone out there fans of "The Office" ? It is becoming a popular show amongst the Children's Ministry staff here at Parkway. I think that the pranks that Jim pulls on Dwight have somehow subliminally inspired us around here lately. This week it seems to have been all out pranking war in the CM office. I came in to my office on Tuesday to find most of my stuff rearranged and balloons stuck to my office windows. Tim and Brian's offices got covered in left over fliers. (That is not an admission of guilt ) There has been "tagging" on office doors, windows and whites boards. Ping Pong Balls stolen with ransom notes, and much more. There have been alliances made, scheming, planning and vows of revenge. So.... I need your help! I need some good pranking ideas. Have you pulled off good pranks in the past? Or have an idea of one that would be fun to pull off ??? Comment below and let us know. We will see if one of your ideas gets carried out. OR, if you could play a prank on anyone in the Children's Ministry office, who would you choose to prank? Maybe the one with the most votes will have a special surprise one day :) Comment below and let us know !!!!! To close it out I am just going to leave you with a few announcements about Children's Ministry. As much fun as we have, we do have to get some serious stuff done :) Thank you to everyone that helped at Trunk or Treat!!! Really!! You made it an awesome night. The feedback we got from people who do not go to church here has been incredible! Also, this weekend we are going to have sign ups for the Parkway Children's Ministry Email Blast. This email has tons of cool info about what's going on and fun stuff to get your kiddos involved in. So make sure you get a card at the kiosks and sign up. Last but not least, I leave you a truly inspirational video that I like to call Merry Christmas !!! 13 Comments UPDATE on Paint and Pizza 06/20/2010
Hey Everyone, As all of the elementary peeps are away at camp, I just wanted to give a quick update with what is going on back here at Parkway. This week we were planning on doing a volunteer paint by numbers and pizza party for the new mural in the JC's Playhouse room. That has been canceled. I know, I'm bummed a bit too, but the guy who is drawing the murals will be painting them for us this week as well. I contacted everyone that I knew had signed up to come and help, but I just wanted to send this blog out for anyone else that was thinking about stopping by. The mural will be done by the end of the week so check it out this weekend. That's it for me so far here on the home front. Don't forget to check in on the blog to see what's going on at camp! :) -Susan Paint and Pizza Party !!! 06/03/2010
Hey everyone, so this is my first EVER blog post. I don't even have a personal blog. I always figured Facebook was good enough. So hang in there with me on this first one here:) Thank You to everyone who came out to our BIG children's ministry meeting this past Tuesday. It was a good time of pizza, celebrity guessing, and gearing up for Phase two. We have a lot of new volunteers joining the team and I am excited to get to know you all! We met with "The Mural Guy" today. He showed us his plans for the JC's Playhouse room and the Elementary room. He is going to start drawing the mural out on Tuesday June 15th. He is going to make it a ‘paint by numbers’, so anyone that wants to come and help paint the mural the following week can!!! We are going to have a Paint and Pizza Party all day on Monday, June 21st. If you want to come and help paint just shoot me an email. We are looking for about 20 volunteers and lunch is on us. I want to end my first ever blog by sending a big shout out to you volunteers! You are amazing! I brag you up all the time when I talk to people about this ministry. I get emails and texts all the time from parents telling me and showing me what their kiddos are learning. So Thank you for what you do here each week. You are making a difference! I'd like to leave you with an email that I recieved from a parent of a preschooler. Enjoy! :) "Just thought you'd like to know that our preschool program makes a difference + I'm a proud mama. :) Tonight I was putting dinner on the table and Trev said "Mom where's my ...(would have said drink) no, wait patience." :):) " And that is why we do what we do! :) -Susan |
